Trump Orders Strikes on Any Vessel Laying Mines in Strait of Hormuz
Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has issued clear orders authorizing American forces to strike any boat caught placing naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, calling such actions an unacceptable threat to global shipping and regional stability.
He stressed that the United States will not tolerate attempts to obstruct one of the world’s most critical energy corridors, where even a single mine could endanger commercial vessels, disrupt oil markets, and escalate military tensions.
According to Trump, U.S. naval units and surveillance assets have been placed on heightened alert to closely monitor maritime activity, with commanders instructed to take immediate defensive action against any vessel engaged in mine-laying operations.
He added that the directive aims to deter adversaries, reassure international partners, and maintain the uninterrupted flow of maritime traffic through the narrow waterway.
Trump also emphasized that Washington’s priority is to prevent a wider conflict, but warned that the U.S. will respond swiftly and forcefully to protect freedom of navigation and ensure the safety of ships transiting the region.
