I've been comparing IC Markets and Pepperstone for scalping on a 1-minute chart. Both are ECN brokers with tight spreads, but I've heard different things from different traders. My main concerns are: spread consistency during news events, execution speed, and slippage. Has anyone used both? Which would you choose for high-frequency trading?

That's a solid strategy. Have you considered adding volume as a confirmation? It can help filter out false breakouts on lower timeframes.

I had a similar experience with EUR/USD. The spread widens significantly during rollover which can mess up tight stop losses.
